Years ago, someone would get up at church and say, “God is good!” The church would say back, “All the time!” Then the first person would say, “All the time!,” and the people would respond, “God is good!” One of the first prayers we learned was, “God is great. God is good.” It’s something we know, but it’s also something we have to remember when things aren’t good in our lives. When prayers go unanswered, the emotions of a moment want to change what we know about God’s goodness, even though there’s an eternity’s worth of history to show otherwise. God is good no matter what and He is able to cause all things to work together for our good even when we can’t see how in the moment. Whatever you’re facing and whatever you’re going through, remember that God is good.

1. The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation.

2. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

3. I know that your goodness and love will be with me all my life; and your house will be my home as long as I live.

4. I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.

5. For the Lord is good; His mercy and lovingkindness are everlasting, His faithfulness [endures] to all generations.
