Remember To Worship

I saw a video of a surgeon who talked about the difference between patients who pray and worship before a surgery and those who don’t. He said the moment patients begin to worship, their whole body, mindset and demeanor changes. They become more relaxed as they go under anesthesia. My wife watched the same thing happen with her father before his surgery. What happens when we worship is that our brain quits focusing on the problem and the fear. It shifts its attention to the only one that is greater than what we’re facing. Fear is present when the situation we’re facing is greater than our ability to solve it. Worship reminds us we serve the One who is greater than anything we face and is more than able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask or think.

Here are some verses to remind us to worship:

1. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.

Hebrews 12:28-29 NIV

2. Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, LORD. They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation. They exult in your righteousness.

Psalms 89:15-16 NLT

3. Come, let us bow down and worship him; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! He is our God; we are the people he cares for, the flock for which he provides.

Psalm 95:6-7 GNT

4. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty and majesty of His holiness [as the creator and source of holiness].

Psalms 29:2 AMP

5. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

John 4:23-24 NKJV
